Horní Planá is a town in the district of Český Krumlov, located in Šumava on the northern bank of the Lipno reservoir. It is located on the border of the Vltavická ravine and the Želnavská hornatina, on the slope of Houbový vrch - at an altitude of 776 m and is the highest town in the South Bohemian Region.
